Fire Safety/ Explosion protection

The highest level of fire safety - built in.
Fire and smoke damage is a risk for the continuity of a company that should not be underestimated. Despite all care and precautions, almost 90 per cent of fires are caused by accidents or arson. 70 percent of companies that lose everything due to a fire have to file for insolvency after at least two years, despite insurance coverage.

HEBEL aerated concrete does not burn and heats up significantly less and more slowly in a fire than other building materials, such as reinforced concrete. It is possible to confine the fire to rooms within the building with HEBEL fire protection walls. This means that more time is gained to fight the fire. The spread of fire from outside the building is also impeded. Approximately 30 per cent of all fires begin outside a building and penetrate the building via the external wall or the roof. Solid roof panels made from aerated concrete also perfectly seal off fires from above or provide protection against fire penetration.

At the same time, constructions made from HEBEL fire protection walls and roofs minimise the effects of explosions, which normally are accompanied by fires that spread quickly. The risk posed by fire is a fact. Good fire prevention is also a fact. It is currently not possible to build more safely than it is with HEBEL aerated concrete.

Despite all precautions, fires can never be completely ruled out. Aerated concrete offers the highest possible level of constructional protection.
Aerated concrete inhibits heat transfer through walls several times better than normal concrete
Heat transfer during a fire after approximately 6 hours
With the same thickness, walls made of aerated concrete provide protection against fire and heat considerably longer than concrete walls. The thermal inertia of the aerated concrete wall ensures that the temperature is lower on the side facing away from the fire.

Aerated concrete inhibits heat transfer through a wall several times better than normal concrete. This protects highly flammable goods from spontaneous combustion.
